This is another example of a Gregory Mark X tube amp. This one is in better condition than the one that I acquired, and appears to be all original.


This is the front of the amp. The name plate is different than on my own amp. I think it looks better in black and white. The "jewel" light on the far right side is the same as on my amp which confirms that it was a stock item. I've never seen anything like it before.

This is the back of the amp. Looks similar to the "tiger amp" and Marie Sixteen in terms of how there is a gap at the bottom.
This is what the original speaker looks like. One Mark X example I have seen had the power transformer mounted inside the chassis and with the power & preamp tubes all in a row instead of what you see here, as in this example.
The markings on the speaker indicate that it was made by Quam-Nichols, a company based out of Chicago, Illnois that is still in business today. Based on the similarity of construction to my own Mark X and the speaker code, I would guess this example was made around 1965. At least the speaker was.

This example appears to have had a pretty good home all these years. Exact date of manufacture is unknown.
