Another Example Of The Gregory Mark X Tube Guitar Amp

This is another example of a Gregory Mark X tube amp. This one is in better condition than the one that I acquired, and appears to be all original.

This is the front of the amp. The name plate is different than on my own amp. I think it looks better in black and white. The "jewel" light on the far right side is the same as on my amp which confirms that it was a stock item. I've never seen anything like it before. |

This is the back of the amp. Looks similar to the "tiger amp" and Marie Sixteen in terms of how there is a gap at the bottom. |

This is what the original speaker looks like. One Mark X example I have seen had the power transformer mounted inside the chassis and with the power & preamp tubes all in a row instead of what you see here, as in
this example. |

The markings on the speaker indicate that it was made by Quam-Nichols, a company based out of Chicago, Illnois that is still in business today. Based on the similarity of construction to my own Mark X and the speaker code, I would guess this example was made around 1965. At least the speaker was. |
This example appears to have had a pretty good home all these years. Exact date of manufacture is unknown.
